Posted student work serves to decorate the room but also build self-esteem and personal pride in the educational environment. Student work should be posted on the classroom walls and changed monthly.

For the month of September, all bulletin boards are to be completed by Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

The following elements should be included on all bulletin boards that display student work in your classrooms and in the hallway:

  1. A title for the assignment
  2. A brief description of the task students completed
  3. A list of the standards that have been addressed in this work.
  4. If applicable, rubrics that show how the student work was assessed should be posted.

In addition, the Bulletin Board Rubric was created to provide you with a guide for developing quality presentations.

*During these months, bulletin boards must have a CARE component that connects the work and the care it took to get there. The following are examples:

  • a short teacher-made description of the CARE connection
  • pictures and a short description of the CARE connection
  • student reflections on the CARE connection
  • Peer to peer shout-out for demonstrating CARE during this task.

Bulletin boards and student work help promote self-esteem and personal pride in students, teachers, and the rest of the CHCS community.  Shared bulletin boards can be divided in half or teachers can opt to alternate months.  Please keep in mind the balance between Spanish and English.  Bulletin boards should display both languages equally throughout the year. Remember to clearly label the displayed work with a title, description of task, class number, teacher name, task, and list of standards meet through the work.  Place this description of the work on the upper portion of the bulletin board.
