At Cypress Hills Community School, our dress code reflects our commitment to fostering a focused learning environment while preparing students for future professional settings. Students in grades 3K-5 are expected to wear khaki pants or skirts with hunter green shirts Monday through Friday, creating a sense of community and belonging. For our middle school students (grades 6-8), the dress code requires black or khaki pants/skirts paired with hunter green shirts Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, middle school students are permitted to wear appropriate casual attire that does not disrupt the learning process. By maintaining consistent dress expectations, we not only minimize distractions but also cultivate important life skills such as responsibility and presentation—qualities that will serve our students well in higher education and future careers. The dress code also promotes equity by reducing visible socioeconomic differences among students, allowing them to focus on academic achievement and personal growth within our Project CARE community.
